Dripping Springs: T.G.I.F. COCKTAIL RECIPES FOR MAY 27

With Gin Day coming up in a couple of weeks, this is the perfect time to introduce you to Dripping Springs Artisan Gin (85 proof) is a San Luis Spirit, produced by Dripping Springs Gin.  It's a lovely name and a lovely spirit.  This family-owned business has been around since 2005, due to the diligence of brothers Kevin and Gary Kelleher.

The corporate résumé includes Dripping Springs Orange (using hand-zested oranges from home-state Texas), 1876 Vodka and the Artisan Gin, which, the brothers began producing at the request of their distributor.  After much thought and experimenting, they came up with a floral-based spirit. There are nine included botanics. Five of these are juniper, cardamom, hibiscus, orange and lime. The brothers are tight-lipped about the remaining four.

Dripping Springs Artisan Gin is also non-GMO, gluten free and certified Kosher by the Houston Kashruth Association.

Dripping Springs Artisan Gin has a spicy floral nose.  It also has the harshness of an ethanol presence.  It's really smooth though.  The finish is surprisingly soft.  Gentle.  It leaves a sweet orange on your lips.
