Big Gin: T.G.I.F. Cocktail Recipes for February 5

Big Gin (94 proof) is a multi-award winning spirit and there are two varieties.  The first is simply Big Gin, which made its debut in 2012.  The second is Big Gin which has been resting in bourbon barrels for six months, prior to selling. No doubt, this is where it acquires its yellow-brown tint.

Big Gin: T.G.I.F. Cocktail Recipes: February 5
Big Gin has a citrus and spicy nose, though we are unable to discern specifics, excepting black pepper.  Its bold, full-bodied and has a delightfully spicy/heated finish.  It is stronger than the other Big Gin.

Big Gin bourbon barreled has a sweet and spicier nose.  It's not as strong-tasting as its predecessor.  It has a subtle strength.

Capdevielle developed the company with business partner Todd Leabman & Holly Robinson. In March 2012, the flagship product Big Gin was released from the Ballard distillery. Bourbon Barreled Big Gin was later released in Spring 2013, and took the Trophy at the IWSC in Nov. 2014 for Best Contemporary Gin — the first American gin to ever do so. As of Fall 2015, Captive Spirits is distributed in eight countries & 15 states. Peat Barreled Big Gin is the third product released, with their fourth being the Barrel Reserve project.
